The IIMs Debate (What are IIMs all about ?)

There has been a huge controversy going on regarding the fee cut imposed by the Government of India for the admissions to the prestigious IIMs (Indian Institute of Management). There are people supporting this step as well as people opposing this. So what do you think about this step taken by the Government. Was it right for the Government to interfere in the management of these institutes who are believed to be producing the best managers in the country ? Can these institutes be made autonomous ?
